Warehouse Operative - Day Shift

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY 

Driscoll’s is seeking for Warehouse Operatives to join the team at our Packhouse site, based in Linton, Kent.

This role requires flexibility with working hours, being able to work weekends, and willing to work longer hours as and when the business requires.

Pay rate starts from £11.97 per hour, but with opportunities to increase this up to £13.04 per hour.

Candidates must be aged 18 or over due to our insurance and for use of the machinery we operate with.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• All aspects of warehouse functions including unloading, receiving, storing, handling, order picking and loading in compliance with company’s policies and vision
• Assist the production in the day to day running of the pack house.
• Responsible for all related activities that could affect product safety, legality, authenticity, quality, and brand integrity in accordance with site policies and procedures. 
• Maintain standards of health & safety, hygiene, and security. Adhere to environmental practices.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
• Operate within standard operating procedures.
• Safely operate Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Loading/unloading trucks arriving on site.
• Receiving, splitting, and storing of goodsin compliance with Company policies
• Segregating waste, identifying and storage of recyclables, empty recycling/waste bins, regular checks on the condition of equipment
• Ensure stock accuracy through regular stock audits.
• Pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped, including cross-docking.
• Maintain records and reports by competently using our computer systems. 
• Communicate effectively within the team and other areas of the business, to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled by a smooth operation.
• Other duties as required by the business.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

1. Previous experience working in a comparable role, preferably within the soft fruit industry.
2. Team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of a Driscoll’s team.
3. Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines as required by the business.
4. Computer literate with the ability to use warehouse management systems including scanners and software programs.
5. Able to adapt to different working environments.
6. Able to demonstrate Passion, Humility and Trustworthiness
7. Flexible approach to working hours including weekend working / early starts / late finishes.
